My Dear Devotees,
Jaya Srila Prabhupada. Here I am, feeling separation from you all. My firm conviction that I must do this special service for Prabhupada is the only reason to give up, even temporarily, the association of so many wonderful souls. Of course the devotees are in our hearts, and therefore there is no real separation. Also, my desire to complete this service for the pleasure of the devotees keeps me always connected to you.
Some practical details: I am here in Los Angeles. During my tour, I knew well that at the end of it, I would be very exhausted, and that is the case. I also have the blessing of a mild flu which has kept me indoors for 3 days, despite the excellent weather here. As I rest and recover from traveling, and from the flu, I feel growing enthusiasm and inspiration to offer this service to Srila Prabhupada. I do need to focus completely on this service, because it really does demand complete concentration.
Now that I am not traveling, I am also able to focus more on my personal spiritual practices such as japa. Krishna is certainly present in His name, and chanting the Holy Names is unlimitedly powerful. Only our devotion and determination are limited, but the Names are unlimited. Krishna is present in our hearts and at any moment, we can turn to Him and embrace our real, eternal identity as His loving servant. This is the spirit of japa.
Thank you all for your affection and understanding. I pray at the feet of Srila Prabhupada that he bless me to do this service nicely for the joy of all Srila Prabhupada’s sincere servants, and for the happiness of the entire world. I will send more reports in the near future. I pray that Lord Krishna bless you all with pure love of Godhead.
With best wishes,
Hridayananda das Goswami
