A Special Thanks to Our Volunteers

It is no wonder that we can find so many scripture references of devotees glorifying one another. Like H.D.Goswami said, “…feel completely free to appreciate Prabhupada in many forms, not only in his personal lectures and books, but also in the devotees, the communities, the dances, the songs, the loving spiritual relationships that actually he inspired.”

So it’s in that spirit – appreciating the loving spiritual relationships Srila Prabhupada left us – that today, devotees around the world celebrate the Vyasa-puja of H.H. Hridayananda dasa Goswami by honoring his 48 years of service to Srila Prabhupada, with a profound understanding of shastra, kindness and equality to all around him, and deep dedication to his spiritual master’s mission – to spread Krishna consciousness to the Western countries.

This year, as the years before, we’ve compiled offerings sent by disciples, god-family and well-wishers from around the globe in a beautiful e-book, and printed a deluxe copy to present to H.D.Goswami. Thank you to all who sent your heartfelt offerings.

Of course, this wouldn’t be possible without our wonderful and dedicated 2017 Vyasa-Puja Book Team. So keeping up with the “honoring the vaishnavas” theme, we would like to acknowledge Jahnavi Held (CO), Danesh Das (Denmark), Shanti Day (FL), and Emily Galucho (FL), for organizing, receiving, and cataloging the submissions and designing the e-book.

We would also like to send our deepest gratitude to those who have sent us photos and videos of H.D.Goswami during his 2017 tour. Thanks to all of you we can keep the rest of the world updated on H.D.Goswami’s latest programs.

Last but not least, we would like to give a very special thank you to all of the devotees involved in the making of the new We are extremely grateful to Greg Krier (CA), who spent countless hours developing and designing the new website, Ali Krishna dd (Japan), who has provided us with invaluable support during the development of the new website, to Dharma Das who has maintained the Lecture Database, giving us the gift of accessing years of priceless knowledge, and to Gaura Das, who has catalogued most of H.D.Goswami’s lectures, allowing us to upload the database in user-friendly format.

We look forward to better serving our community, so if you have any suggestions or questions please feel free to send us a message through our contact page.

Your servants,

Dear Devotees,

Jaya Prabhupada! As you probably know, I recently returned from India where I had a very encouraging meeting with the GBC. I am grateful to the GBC members for receiving me with great courtesy and kindness, and for being so willing to openly and fairly discuss serious topics of mutual concern. As you will see in the link below, at this point we must all put conflict behind us within ISKCON and work together for the good of Prabhupada’s mission.

The “shared statement” below, which I helped to draft, is a sincere and honest statement of mutual good will, and a determination to find appropriate ways to strengthen our cooperation. I urge all devotees who truly support me to strictly honor this statement and avoid criticizing ISKCON leaders, or any devotees who favor preaching strategies different from ours. Rather with genuine good will, we should treat all Prabhupada’s followers with respect and consideration.

I am deeply grateful to all of you who have understood and supported me. Now is the time to do all we can to strengthen unity and cooperation within ISKCON. Prabhupada wants this and the world needs it.

With best wishes,
Hridayananda das Goswami

Stories From the First Krishna West International Festival

Last month Nova Gokula of ISKCON Brasil hosted the very first Krishna West International Festival. Hundreds of devotees and friends from all over the world came to take part in classes and seminars, celebrations, and to engage themselves in Srila Prabhupada’s mission. We reached out to those who attended, and asked them to provide us with their thoughts and feelings on the Festival.
Below you can read what they had to say. Photos are included, or you can click here to view the Gallery.

The first Krsna West International Festival took place in a climate of great harmony and cooperation, contrary to some of the expectations that were raised during the planning of it.

The presence of H.D.Goswami was the link that united all the generations of devotees participating, from their spiritual brothers to the younger ones, all curious to know about the Krsna West program or how to be useful in its implementation in Brazil.

I summarize Krsna West in one word: compassion.

The program focuses on “preaching” so that it can efficiently reach each soul within its socio-cultural reality.

Despite being in a state of implementation, thus susceptible to adjustments, the Krsna West movement has already shown its importance and success, since it has reconquered many dissatisfied devotees with various aspects of the ISKCON institution and renewed the enthusiasm of many others, as it reveals a more humane, intelligent and sensible way of giving Krsna consciousness to people in general.

I believe that, at least in the face of the credentials of Krishna West’s proposal, of the current unfocused growth in the West, of the lack of other achievable proposals and of the desire expressed by a considerable portion of devotees dissatisfied with the current model of ISKCON in the West, leaders should give due attention and respect to the Krsna West program, analyzing it objectively.

I support the Krsna West movement, and as far as possible, I try to adjust its principles to my particular way of teaching Krishna Consciousness.

His servant,
Yamunacarya das Goswami
